Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)

Lifting Skills now offers a quick and easy RPL process for most of its occupational licence courses!  RPL will save you money and time!  While all Candidates must still be given challenge tests (theory and practical), the Candidate will be able to obtain the relevant licence much more quickly. This is how it works:

1. To be eligible the Candidate must be able to demonstrate that he/she has operated the particular machinery/equipment or relevant work under the supervision of a Licensed Operator.

2. Lifting Skills will provide the Candidate with a ‘Self Evaluation Form’ to determine if the RPL process is right for him/her.

2. If the Candidate’s Licensed Operator believes the Candidate to be competent at the relevant operation (relevant to the lincence type), then the Lincenced Operator may then complete Lifting Skill’s ‘Third Party Report’. 

3. Once the ‘Third Party Report’ has been completed and submitted to Lifting Skills, then a gap analysis will be conducted by one of our Trainers and Assessors, to determine what, if any, gap training is required.  The Training Plan will be developed from this information and gap training will take place (if necessary).

4. The Candidate may then undertake the Theory Assessment and Practical Assessment.  If successful, the candidate will then be issued with a Statement of Attainment for the licence type and an AS1 form (or relevant form) which will allow the Candidate to apply to Workplace Health and Safety for the specific licence.
